The Sibanthracite Group makes a significant contribution to reducing the environmental impact of the metallurgical industry by supplying high-quality anthracite and PCI products, as using these in blast furnace pig iron smelting results in significantly less CO₂ emissions than metallurgical coke. At a cost comparable to coking coals, anthracite’s superior properties make steel production more environmentally friendly and economical. Environmental protection is a priority for the Sibanthracite Group. The company has an environmental program aimed at eliminating negative impacts on the environment. In 2020–2025, the Group’s enterprises allocated 2.8 billion rubles to implementing environmental protection measures.
The Sibanthracite Group includes leading coal companies in the Novosibirsk Region – the Kolyvansky Open-Pit Mine and Vostochny Open-Pit Mine, as well as coal producers in the Kemerovo Region – Verkhnetheshsky Open-Pit Mine and Kuznetsky Yuzhny Open-Pit Mine.
The Sibanthracite Group is investing in new infrastructure and equipment. It is transitioning to the use of high-performance, large-capacity mining and haulage equipment, while automating an increasing number of production processes.
