12 July 2012, Novosibirsk. Siberian Anthracite, one of the world’s largest producers of Ultra High Grade (UHG) anthracite, announces that Novosibirsk Region Governor Vasily Yurchenko visited the Company during a working meeting held in Iskitim district on 10 July. The governor was briefed on Siberian Anthracite’s investment programme and local road infrastructure in Iskitim district, and also visited a number of social facilities and businesses.
Siberian Anthracite CEO Dmitry Shatokhin told the governor that the Company has made good progress and that the investment programme is currently running to schedule, with measures being completed faster than had been planned. “In the past three years we have raised production by 1 million tons a year”, Dmitry Shatokhin said.
An agreement was also reached during the meeting on the need for substantial development of the district’s road network in 2013. The Governor instructed Nikolai Simonov, the regional minister for transport and economy, and the district administration to designate a private road for Siberian Anthracite and roads for public use.
Vasily Yurchenko summed up by saying that the investment programme would increase budgetary tax income at all levels and could in his opinion create up to 1,500 new jobs. Igor Shmidt, the regional minister for labour, employment and human resources, and the Company’s top management have been instructed to draft a joint training and professional education programme, including for residents of local villages.
