Sibanthracite Continues to Improve Living and Working Conditions for Employees in Kuzbass

Verkhneteshsky Open Pit Mine and Kuznetsky Yuzhny Open Pit Mine have opened new shower facilities for 154 people near their mining sites. Each modular building has an area of 138 square meters and can accommodate 77 workers. They are divided into several zones – a changing room, shower area, and rest room. Every employee has an individual locker for personal belongings, and all rooms are equipped with drying devices.

The buildings are fully equipped with all necessary utilities. They are electrified via a generator, which also provides heating during the cold season. A water supply system delivers water that meets all sanitary and epidemiological standards, and wastewater is handled through a septic-based drainage system. Water heating is provided by eight electric water heaters, each with a capacity of 200 liters. The modular buildings are also equipped with ventilation systems and fire and security alarms.

According to Verkhneteshsky Open Pit Mine’s HR Director, Tatyana Solomina, employee comfort and well-being are among the company’s top priorities:

“The Group’s management strives to ensure that people working far from civilization can freshen up after their shifts, take their time to shower, relax, and return home in good spirits. Of course, we already had facilities like this, but as production increases, we’re expanding capacity. The new complexes will serve a greater number of employees. We all understand that achieving a high level of production is impossible without providing good conditions for working and resting at the enterprise.”

The new shower facilities are part of the Sibanthracite Group’s broader program to improve workplace and living conditions. The companies’ modular camps also include a canteen, a briefing room, and a dispatch center. The Group plans to expand these modular camps further, with additional buildings to be built in the near future.
