Sibanthracite to Train Mining Specialists in Novosibirsk Region

The Sibanthracite Group is launching its second unique educational program of the year in the Novosibirsk Region. Following the ‘Mineral Processing’ program, a new course in ‘Open-Pit Mining’ will soon begin at Linevo Industrial College (LIK). Until now, these professions were not taught anywhere in the region. The new educational program is being introduced at the initiative of Kolyvansky Open Pit Mine (part of the Sibanthracite Group).

LIK has already received an official license to conduct educational activities in this sphere. Intensive work is underway to design the curriculum, which will reflect both the modern requirements of the mining industry and the needs of the enterprise.

The first group of full-time students will be enrolled in 2026. The program will run for three years and ten months and will include hands-on industrial training at the mine. Kolyvansky Open Pit Mine plans to sign training contracts with students and provide additional scholarships.

According to Kolyvansky Open Pit Mine’s Director for Human Resources and Social Affairs, Alena Chepala, one of the key advantages the new program provides for prospective applicants is the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education without having to move to another region.

In 2025, LIK launched the ‘Mineral Processing’ program in partnership with the Listvyansky Processing Plant (also part of the Sibanthracite Group). The first group of 25 students began their studies on September 1, 2025.
