Sibanthracite Group employees have taken first and second places in the regional ‘Best Occupational Safety Specialist’ competition, which was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Novosibirsk Region.

The competition, held from August 20 to October 10, brought together 70 participants. In the ‘Best Occupational Safety Specialist of Industrial Organizations with More Than 250 Employees’ category, Kolyvansky Open Pit Mine’s Deputy General Director for Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, and Production Control, Danil Fakhretdinov, took first place. Zhanna Gulidova, Vostochny Open Pit Mine’s Lead Specialist for Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, took second. Both enterprises are part of the Sibanthracite Group.

The contestants’ work was evaluated by an expert commission composed of representatives from the Regional Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the State Labor Inspectorate, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Novosibirsk Region, the Regional Office of the Social and Pension Insurance Fund, and the Regional Employers’ Union. In evaluating the candidates, the following criteria were considered: higher professional education and advanced training certificates, work experience in occupational health, participation in professional events, experience in developing documentation, the effectiveness of occupational safety management systems, the absence of workplace injuries among employees, professional awards, and community involvement.

According to Sergey Bakanyaev, Head of Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, and Production Control at Sibanthracite Group, “This victory confirms the high level of safety culture and professionalism in the company.”

The Regional Ministry of Labor and Social Development awarded the competition winners with honorary certificates at a ceremony that took place during a meeting of the Novosibirsk Regional Tripartite Commission on the Regulation of Social and Labor Relations.
